This leads past the Fighting Cocks pub into open parkland, museums and lake with its diversity of aquatic birds. Also under our windows is George Street, which marks the beginning of the city centre shops, bars and restaurants. Named after the protestant martyr, George Tankerfield, burned at the stake in Romeland in 1555, Tankerfield House is steeped in history but has all modern amenities.
